I would like to lessen the amount of galleries that has to open on my web site.
What I would like to do is have a gallery for each year and a subgallery for each month as the months comes around . Placing in each month the photos of that month but only have 1 thru 12 galleries opening up each time I go to my site. Does this make any sense and can I do this ?
Thanks Randy

    Hey Randy,

It looks like you already have your categories well set up. I would recommend changing your homepage gallery display to show categories. That's a simple mouse click in the upper right corner of the display box. Have a look here: http://screencast.com/t/CsxJrGeEJuUP

Please let us know if we can help you further, or need more detailed help, please email us, and we'll be with you shortly there after: http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/emails/new

Yes please I would like to be able to rename the categories that I have and move the photos from some of them to help me organize much better. I did not know there was a catergory link I just by accident placed them in the subcatergory, now that i know that , can you help please.
    Thanks Randall

You can rename any categories you created in the control panel. You can't rename Smugmug's standard categories, but you can create new ones with the names you want.

You change the category or sub-category a gallery is assigned to in gallery settings for that particular gallery. There is no easy way to rearrange all your galleries other than changing categories one at a time in gallery settings. It's tedious for a lot of galleries, but it works in the end.
