tripod/ball head coming loose

My Manfrotto 488RC2 no longer stays tight on my 055XPROB tripod...this basically makes the tripod worthless for half of its function. :(

This just started happening in the past few days and it hasn't seen a ton of use. I don't see any damage on either of the parts' threads. Any ideas, other than loctite? I'm wondering if this is a warranty situation...

Here is a copy of the user instructions for your Manfrotto 055XPROB:

    http://pentadictos.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/055xprob-190xprob.pdf

Note the 3 - set-screws, located on the top plate of the 055XPROB (marked "M" in illustration #6 on the second page.) Make sure to back these off when you mount the ball head, and then tighten them to secure the head to the tripod. Do not over-tighten the screws.

Spot on...thanks! I feel dumb now...having never read the manual headscratch.gif, I misinterpreted how to correctly attach the head from the very beginning. It's not going anywhere now though. :D
