Trouble sorting galleries

I know I must be missing something obvious.

I'm having trouble sorting galleries listed under a sub-category (like here). I used the Send to Smugmug tool to upload these galleries last night and they finished at different times (out of order mind you) and now they appear in what I assume is most recent uploaded first? Anyway, I thought I could manually change this with 'Arrange: Position' but it's not there.

Any ideas?

What about when you are looking at the list of sub-categories (like here). Can this be arranged also? or is the sort order arbitrary?

Hi Drew,

To arrange your subcategory or gallery displays, you will need to have your category page in the arrange mode. Currently, you have yours set to display by most recent.

Since you've hidden your categories box from your homepage, using CSS, you will need to display it, to make that change. Once done, you can change it back, if you'd like.

It's this part:
.homepage #galleriesBox,
.homepage #categoriesBox,

Under the hide items from homepage section, in your CSS box.

Once you've changed the categories to the arrange mode, the arrange link should appear for you in the category, subcategory and gallery boxes.

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually have setup an alternate homepage /galleries in which I view the most recent categories. I just use this internally for the fastest way to get to what we have been working on recently. Too bad that this setting drives the entire site because I would love to be able to control this sort category to category. Sometimes most recent is appropriate and sometimes I want to choose.

Any other ideas?

Hey Drew,

Nothing says you cannot leave your category display just as it is on your /galleries page. The only way for the display by most recent to work right, is to have the flow from top to bottom. You upload a new gallery, it shoots to the top of the list.

So, to arrange at any level, it first needs to be set to arrange at the top level. Does that make sense? Just remember, you can leave it as it is now, in the arrange mode, but as you add new galleries, they will not necessarily go to the top of the page.

I'm not aware of any other way for you to do that. Sorry.
