The Return

See, they return...
ah, see the tentative
Movements, and the slow feet,
The trouble in the pace and the uncertain
Wavering!

See, they return, one by one,
As half-awakened...
with fear;
As if the snow should recoil
And trembling in the wind...
half turn back

(...)

Ezra Pound 1913

This is a 50% crop which gives an idea what this image looks like printed. The intricacy of detail and the energy of light and lines can be better appreciated.

You inspired me with this photo .. I saw a face in a window the other day and took a photo of it. It was composed from shadows of leaves.

I like the cropped too. I've viewed this a few times. At first it was a bit disturbing but now it looks quite comforting. I'm in a better mood today so maybe that is why ;)

Interesting to read your experience of this, thanks Eia!

This one nags me because I can't close on it, can't feel it's truly finished. I am thinking of turning the face to look out of the image directly. I think it needs that immediate connection.

I have to hand it to you, my friend. You're not afraid to jump right out there. This latest series of yours is a bit beyond me....but then I'm lacking an interpretive, creative vein that you fortunately possess. I can always count on you for providing a unique perspective on things. I hope you'll always harbor these proclivities and share your visions with us.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Well, you only live twice, Tom!
