This summer, my family took a trip to Yellowstone--one of our very favorite places in the world. Beautiful! What a great part of the country...

On our way home, we stopped at the Painted Hills unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument in central Oregon. Oh so beautiful as well! We were reminded that we live in a pretty cool part of the country too!

Hi, the 'painted hills' almost have a 'see through' look to them - very interesting shot.

    Cheers, Richard.

I love this wider angle of the shot. You usually see close-up and cropped shots of the hills, which are awesome too but this one really gives a sense of context. And it looks like it could be a movie set thumb.gif

Thank you for the kind comments, all. Schmoo...thanks for mentioning the wide angle....all my other shots of the area are, of course, close-ups and crops! :)
