I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

    Hi John,
I like the light rays in #1. I also like the blurred water in #2. It adds action, though a boat over on it's keel is action enough. Good shotthumb.gif.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Chris

    Thanks Ginger and Chris.

It was a fun day and I shot a few pics that I'm happy with - one of those "priceless" commercials!

37' Tartan - not sure the year - probably about 15 - 20 years old, nice condition.

It's my son-in-law's parents boat. Nice people. I've done a fair amount of powerboating but I'm a sailing noobie.

Yeah, they only had the main 2/3 raised - they wanted to protect the fearful on board (Not me on that list! Bring it on!)

Here's the rest of the gallery if you're interested - warning, lots of family shots.

Looks like you had a great day...... can't say I've been on a big yacht, no I fib I have been on one tied up to the dock does that count ? :D
I bet if you didn't get seasick it would be a great sport, it always looks like fun when I see the yachts in the bay where I live.

There's a crisp cleaness about Yachting, the blue water, the blue sky, the two just go so well together :D

The fear of ending up in the water would always bother me I'm afraid.

I look at your images and I think.......glad I'm not on that yacht rolleyes1.gif there is only one word to describe what I think when I see these kind of shots.....

Actually, my wife was worried about seasickness but no problem at all on this boat. I've heard that seasickness is caused by a conflict between what the eyes are seeing and what the inner-ear is feeling. I've been deep sea fishing and when the powerboat is just sitting or slowly trolling along, I've had the beginnings of some queasy feelings.

Even with the breezy conditions, there wasn't a lot of "bobbing" around, or up-and-down moving. The ride was smooth and very comfortable.

No problems at all with anyone having stomach problems. Maybe sailing on a slightly bigger yacht may work for you??
