I love 2ndshooterin! This particular primary is very different than myself so I think I am going to like shooting with her. Just a totally different vision. I can hardly wait to compare shots with her.

So, anyways, here is a start! More to come once I get to them.

01. Benny is a super snappy dresser. They are both enamored with the 50's. Benny had these shoes custom made for him.

03. The wedding was on the grounds of the old Pabst Brewery in Downtown Milwaukee.

Great set! Love the nice framing and the selective focus works great on the ring shot.

Thanks Ladies! The ring shot dude is part of a moving, bartop display. The guy is in an old fashioned beer delivery truck that rocks back and fourth and both the moving car and the pbr sign are connected to a base sitting on the bar, so it was a tough-ish shot. I used flash so it wasn't a motion blur thing (although there is a tiny bit if you pixel-peek), but shooting a macro of a moving object is tough because the focal plane is so shallow. Even at f7 there was no DOF. Since flash froze the movement it wasn't about that, but more about taking the shot when the rings moved back into the plane of focus. For anyone who isn't used to this type of shot, the best place to take this shot, or any similar moving shot is at the apex or the top of the motion. There is always a slight moment when a repeated motion pauses to switch directions. This is a common technique for shooting jumping basketball players and other sports stuff.

Anyways, thanks for the comments. I hope to get back to this one in a week or two and I will post more.

i like #2 a lot for some reason. very interesting composition. great job!

That was shot through a french door. The primary photographer popped in for a couple shots of him while the girls were dressing, and she shoots in close with shorter lenses so she is tough to shoot around because she is often in the frame. I walked into the adjoining courtyard thinking I should get something different than what she was shooting. She was messing with his suit coat and he looked down at her. I waited for the window light to be nice and then used the frame of the door to block her on the right and framed him between the glass panes of the door. This will likely be a favorite of mine from the day. Well, it is. I love the shot. It seems very ratpack to me and I know they will love it because that is their thing.

    thanks for the input.

That ring shot is killer! i have been looking for more interesting places for rings. Great stuff.

The last one... i think her dress matches the siding to much maybe not the best for black and white..but i do love the contrast of the steps. ne_nau.gif

Good work all around Matt! I've got to pick on you for one of them - #6. As it is, I would crop it just below her shoulder.

I loe the composition and the B&W treatment. Cool tonality and super sharp - it will need a big print. BUT ... their hands make them look like mannequins! Next time, have them each hold their left hands together and put her bouquet in her right hand. Boom.

Pick on me anytime my friend. thanks for the advice. I'll play with the crop some and see what looks best. The tip on the hands is a good one. thanks.
