Thanks. I think the originals are the same, but the retouched one is lower res. Someone worked on a lower res starting point. We'll redo.

Kudos to Rutt for spearheading this! Looks like all the pictures
have already been worked on. I am not a pro, but can still make
    the pics better. any left?

A gift from dgrin to your family
I sent the following to Lindsay by both email and PM. It's actually from all of us, so I thought I'd share it.

I don't know what the best way to reach you is and I'm sure you are distracted right now. My father died last year and my grandmother the year before, so I know what it's like. Still I want to make sure you get this in case it is still useful, so I'm going to both PM and email it.

Dgrin members have now retouched all 13 of your originals. Some are better than others, but I think all are pretty good. We've gathered what we think are the best versions into a new gallery: http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/898016/1/40801189

This is a gift from the dgrin community to you and your family. We hope it offers some small happiness to the people who were close to Cecil.

If there are some other scans you would like us to work on, please don't hesitate to email them to me.

I'm fairly new here and I just want to say that my first impression of this group of posters is right on! Very generous souls willing to give time and advice just for the asking. Y'all have me tears right now.

    Thank you

I really do believe there is good left in the world.

I just came across this thread and it near brought tears to my eyes. Firstly, to Invective, my heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

To everyone who helped, God bless you for your compassion and volunteerism. And Rutt, you are a saint among men.

I'm sorry I couldn't help but in future please keep in mind I have an FTP site which I will gladly make available for uploading and transferring large files.

A HUGE thanks to everyone that helped out. You truley are Saints. The photographs looked very good, many comments were made. There were people from customs dressed in uniform, the sun was out. Although it was a very sad day, it went very well. Many speakers, many friends, many tears. I will scan a copy of the booklet to show you guys once I get the chance.

To all Dgrinner that helped out, or even gave a kind word, my heart goes out to you. You are all amazing people, with amazing photographs and skills. If there is anything I can do for any of you, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Once again, thank you.
