Hello everyone,

I have decided to try my luck with rc car action shots. Not surprisingly, out of 100 photos only few came out to my liking. I will admit, it takes allot of practice with your weapon of choice to capture a good shot: especially remote control cars, they are incredibly fast. Anyhow, I'm new to photography and love this great hobby.

Welcome. First off - Post pics not a link to your site. You won't get many to take the time to go to your site. Your outdoors, much easier than indoors. They are quick, wait till you try the road guys on carpet you wanna see quick. Watch your DOF. Not sure if you are keeping it short intentionaly but I would make sure it is deep enough for the whole car on normal race shots. Artse, short DOF is another thing. My past customers did not particulary like shots from the back. They wanted front shots, down low, track level with action. Look for when they get out of the groove and you get a little dirt kicking up.

    Keep clicking.

You will get a lot more keepers if you pre-focus and pan as they go by. I've gotten a good response taking a shot of the rc air born with the driver on the stand in the background. Man I miss racing.
