Crop Circles in my Northern Lights? WHAT?

I took some photos of the northern lights last night and the 30 second exposures all had these crazy circles in the middle of the photo.

ISO, aperture didn't make a difference. The only thing I can think of is maybe the UV filter on the lens?

It was taken with a 7D and the 17-55 2.8 IS (IS turned off). Very odd. :scratch

Thanks. I have never shot the northern lights before so I am happy with my first effort.

I was looking through all my long exposures and the circles are much bigger when I was zoomed in and smaller when zoomed out. So it has to be either my lens or my filter. I will have to experiment some more.
