new to smug mug - don't get it

I don't get the relationship of categories to galleries -- I want the viewer to see folders like "landscape" "animals" etc. with galleries of "butterflies" "birds" etc. I started to set it up and made several categories which I don't see and the one gallery I made is what shows up on my home page ... what am I missing?

You might try first going to your homepage and clicking the Display: categories link in the upper right corner of your galleries box. This will display your galleries organized into their respective categories. This might be the missing link you're looking for
Note, we'll only show categories here that include galleries (categories without any associated galleries won't be shown, but will show as soon as you add a gallery to that category).
