Hey all,

Just got back from a 3 week road trip to Western Mongolia. The western-most province of Bayan-Ulgii is primarily Kazakh (close to Kazakhstan) and every fall they celebrate their sport of Eagle Hunting. This guy was the oldest at the festival at 72!

Looks good! I wish it was sharper, though. Also, adding some contrast and darkening the image adds to the impact!

Nice pic Caleb. It's always nice to see your posts.

Could you give a little background for us on "Eagle Hunting"? They don't actually hunt and kill Eagles do they, if they do I think the nature forum is going to burst out into tears. Also, could you post some more pics of what actually goes on at the fest to give us a better feel of the environment? Thanks

Very nice on many levels, Caleb. Colour, subject, tight crop(altho' it might be just off-centre to the left if I were picky) and exposure given the contrasty light. I might just be tempted to adjust the overall brightness and contrast settings.
I wish I had been there.
    cheers
