Problem with default uploader?

Everytime I try to upload more than one image, the uploader always automatically skips the first one in line. It usually says something like "Upload timed out" or something of the sort. (I can upload some to get the exact details if it would help retify the problem).
This is really annoying. Say if I upload 10 images into a gallery. It'll skip the first and start batching the 2nd and 3rd in and move its way down (in twos) until its finished. At that point in confirms the upload at the top with something like "9 out of 10 Uploads succesful". At which point I usually bring in the one it skipped at the top of the list. I didnt mind this, I actually started getting used to it and now always note the file number so I know what image I need to go back to but now Im getting doubles!
Lately, the "skipped" image apears in the gallery sometimes but only sometimes. This is creating an extra step because now I have to chack the gallery after the upload to see if its there or not. Its not alot of work and Im not being lazy but its all unneccesary.
Has anyone had similar issues with the uploader?

This is not normal, and we should have a look at what is going on. Please write the heroes, and include the following information:
Your browser and operating system, including versions
Your account nickname
Also, grab the error message for us as well, as that will help. Point us to your most recent upload.
Thanks - we will get this sorted out.

In the meantime, here's a few tips that should make even your current workflow work smoother.
There is a feature called 'skip duplicates' that will automatically find images not in the gallery and upload them. Once an upload is done and it shows what has been uploaded/not uploaded, give it about a minute and then refresh the uploader page. All of your queued files should be gone and the uploader should be blank again. Re-enqueue your entire batch and the uploader will skip all the files that were uploaded and automatically upload that one file that it found missing.
Here's a quick way to find duplicates:

I'm actually working on a set of tools that includes an even quicker way to find duplicates.
