Pondering their Descent

Watched this covey of quail descend from a cliff to the lake edge for a drink of water. They were fun to watch.
All taken from a boat - a small one at that, so the pics are not as sharp as they ought to be! They sure do camouflage well. They never made it to the water's edge.

Thanks for the comment. They can't fly like a regular bird; only short, low distances.

I love the detail and texture on these shots, Eia. Not to mention that you did a very good shooting this from a boat. I did that once and my shots are all over the place. Being a person with arthritic hands certainly has a lot of disadvantages when it comes to photography.
