SmugMug Domain and TZO DDNS Services

Hello fellow dgrinners/heros,
I recently registerd a new domain name through TZO, just before starting up a 14 day trial with SmugMug (14 days is a bit short, but that's another topic for a different thread) . I don't have my own DNS server, or any servers for that matter, to establish my new domain presence on the internet. Currently, I am relying on a 30 day trial with TZO to perform web forwarding to my SmugMug site (still on 14 day trial). Basically I am trying to deterimine if I can have a mix of different companies managing the server pieces, while I just manage the data content. (I wish I would have known about SmugMug and GoDaddy's colaboration efforts before I got started with TZO.) Anyway, I want to know if there are any SmugMug users who rely on the DNS services of TZO to redirect their own domain names to their SmugMug accounts, and how has that experience/combination of services been. I have attempted to follow the instructions posted here, http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93340 using the TZO web forwarding services, but it doesn't work like I want it to, because I can't figure out a way to create a "CNAME" and "A" record on the TZO DNS service. I suspect this may be a TZO limitation as they are more a DDNS provider, or may require a special request/service with TZO. Does anyone know if GoDaddy provides a DNS service for a domain name that has been registered by another registrar (TZO in my case)?
Thanks in advance everyone,
Michael Sloan

Yes, forwarding in any shape or form won't do it. You'd need to check if your domain registrar allows you to set custom DNS records. I would suggest you email them and point them to our DIY section here:
http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93340-setting-up-a-custom-hostname-domain
asking whether this is something they can set up for you.
If not, you could transfer your domain to GoDaddy (or any registrar that allows you custom DNS records) to be able to properly set up your domain to work with SmugMug.
