Night heron

Actually, I got some dogs, egrets, sunrise, morning moon, ocean, and a 1 gb card full of a really cool seashell. But my eyes won't stay open.

So I am throwing you all this bone of a night heron, the last thing shot, before I go take a nap. The rest will wait! Has to, can't PP with my eyes closed and my brain turned off. I need one or the other, at least!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Thanks, Harry, Awais, Ben,

I think he was trying to escape from me. I can't get birds to fly anymore. I can't take any more photos, I just can't. I have sat for hours waiting for birds to take off. I am going to have a thread soon where I show some of the sitters. Or eaters.

They look like they are going to take off, then they turn around and look at me.
Unless I am walking away to the car, out of memory, of course, those birds will not fly.

I thought I had found gold when this one went two feet.

I have literally waited for 2 hrs on a great blue, only to have him take off with his back to me the whole time.

In fact, a few other birds have done that to me the last few days.

    Thanks, Ice,

He was headed for the bush, from a perch in the bush, he went two to five feet into a hole he must have known about, and he disappeared.

Nice one Ginger thumb.gifthumb.gif He does look sort of like he's trying to walk on air rather than fly rolleyes1.gif

Hey, I hear ya on waiting for these primadonnas to take flight eek7.gif You can get cramps (in your hands and fingers) sitting there waiting for them to get the hint rolleyes1.gif You keep 1/2 pressing and they turn around and look at you like you're crazy.....lol

That's one good think about shooting raptors. They usually try to "lighten" themselves before taking off. So all you have to do is wait for the "signal" then start 1/2 pressing and within seconds they're off. Usually, in the opposite direction, but that's material for another thread lol3.gif
