Hi everyone!
First off, this is my first dSLR, its a Canon 60D and I've only had it for a few weeks...
First thing on my list of things to get was a macro lens, i got a Canon 100mm f/2.8 USM (Non IS )
So far I'm very happy with the results... It's so much fun! but its going to take a LOT of practice!
Any feedback would be very much appreciated!
1) Bee
Having never worried about DOF with point and shoots, i can really see the advantages of focus stacking... going to try that soon
2) Flower
3) Bee
4) Leaf
5) Bee
6) Bee
7) Flower
8) My Girlfriend's Eye
Edited obviously
You can see the stock pop up flash!
9) Bee
I love the isolation of the legs and eye. though i guess here would be another good place to try focus stacking, but in this case i like the isolation...
Thanks!
Peter

I can't believe you are new to macro and dslr, your pics are really good!
I bought the same lens a month back, and i have never looked at small creatures the same way again!
I'm very pleased with the lens. I love how you can be so far back from the subject and get such a close up! gotta love 100mm! im used to being a couple of cm from the subject with my point and shoot.
dont think about focus stacking until you get alot more practise !
bees are extremly difficult to shoot being so active!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, i can see how focus stacking would be difficult with bees.
Its early spring here in melbourne, and still pretty cold, summer should see lots of bugs! cant wait
