Advice on very large canvas gallery wrap pls :)

I have a custom order for a four foot long canvas gallery wrap, which is larger than what can be ordered through my SM site. I had thought to have it done by Bay Photo, but...I don't have much experience prepping an image file to be printed at this size (I do have OnOne/Genuine Fractals and I do know enough to review it at 100% pixel by pixel )...but I guess SM has made me too comfortable and knowing that I won't have the safety net of the money-back guarantee (which is noted on my site) - even though I've never had a dissatisfied customer in the past, this is a big ticket item and there is a world of difference between a four foot image and an 8x10 - and if I screw this up I'm going to have to eat the cost, I'm a bit nervous about pulling the trigger (okay, maybe scared to death is more accurate). Any tips, pointers, things to watch out for that anyone can tell me to ease my mind? How can I tell that it's going to look good at that size??

Am I better off finding a local printer that I can work with and talk to...and if so, can anyone recommend a printer in south SoCal?

    Lori,

I always like the idea of working with a local business, but that's not always possible.

You can call Bay photo and talk to them. Get their icc profile an most likely have them look at the file for you before printing.

Give them a call, you got nothing to loose.

Bay photo is great. The icc is right on their website. Plus they send proofs.
