I'm so fortunate to live close to a beautiful ocean that showcases sunsets every now and then :)

    Gorgeous images! I'm guessing these aren't from tonight as there is a distinct lack of rain drops! ;)

    If you don't mind me asking, what area in La Jolla are these from? I always seem to "get stuck" right in the area near the bridge club building at the cove, but I know there are plenty more interesting areas I just need to find.

    You need to go further South. Check out Windansea Beach and heaven awaits :-)

    Great series. #3 strikes me as one that could be depicting the earliest days of the earth's formation. All around good work.clap.gif

    This is exactly the kind of sunset I'm hoping to be able to capture in my new digs in NorCal. I just have to find a place and time to do it. headscratch.gif

    Shutter speed ranges from 1/20 - 1 sec. I am using Graduated filters for the the majority of these shots. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. :)

    Really nice series. I love #2 and #3. I've rolled image #3 up as if it was cropped from the top about 3/4 down and it is maybe even a stronger comp. The water and rock/reflections are so beautiful the sky almost seemed to take away from it. What the hell do I know. Nice work as is!

    Thanks everyone. Here are a few more taken at the same time as #3. The sunset was plain awesome that day as a storm just passed by leaving the skies that deep orange and red color :)

    Are these ND filters? or GRADUATED Filters if so what kind? THanks! :)

    Most are taken with a Singh Ray 3 stop reverse GND...and some are a combination of that plus a LEE 3 stop soft GND...
