Problem creating card

When I attempt to create a 5x7 card, I receive a message that my photo isn't large enough. The photos I have attempted to use are 8x12 jpgs at 144 ppi. I can't believe that really isn't large enough so I wonder where the problem lies. Any ideas?

The minimum resolutions were a bit difficult (for me) to find, but I finally realized where they were hiding. Apparently the minimum resolutions are different for each card design, so...

From the page showing minimum resolutions for prints I jumped to the card gallery. I then selected a card type and clicked on a specific card. The minimum resolution for each card is shown in the caption of the example for that card.

The minimums are not based on ppi, they are based on file size.
