When I started shooting it was dead calm, by the time I was finished the wind was blowing about 65m.p.h. Timing is everything on this shots even at 30 second exposures.............seems everytime the camera is processing is when the lighting strikes..............lol. Oh well ya take what ya get. Wish I had some nice background or a fancy city skyline, hahahaha sentence before this one applies.

Comments welcomed!!!

Thanks for looking!

    Cool shot wally.

I always wanted to shoot lightning, but never have gotten a keeper.

Thanks GREAPER, luck plays a big part. This is a very mediocre shot compared to a lot I have seen here. I'm just glad to get to post once in a while, and I so enjoy seeing the shots others post here. You and others set the bar very high!

Me too, Brian. I even found the web site that sold an Electronic Lightning trigger to fire your camera, but they seem to no longer be in business ne_nau.gif

    Nice image too!!

Wow that looks pretty nasty Wally.......did it turn into a torado ?
Those clouds look amazing....... and how lucky were you to get a lighting bolt in the deal hey clap.gif way to go Wally!
I tried to shoot a storm here months ago, but it was too windy and the rain was coming in on a 45 Deg angle so I retreated to the indoors :D

Those clouds just scream "LOOK OUT" ...... what a cool shot.

Thanks very much Skippy!!! That storm cell produced some hail to the south, but we did not get any, nor any rain. There were tornados to the north, but none close to where I live.

Here is the same photo processed differently (better?)

The second is cool, but for me, the first does it better. I think it's the darker atmosphere.

I think the second version has more drama in the clouds. Well done.

Where in Oklahoma do you live. I lived on the south side of Tulsa for a couple of years back in the early 80s.

True, what about a way to get that drama with a little more darkness though? I just like dark dark stormy atmospheres, hehe.
