a few morning glory shots

I have morning glories climbing over one end of my deck. they are beautiful flowers, but it's not easy to figure out how to photograph them. Here are two tries from yesterday. Both were taken with my 50D and a 100m L macro, and both were stacked in Zerene (DMap). Both are natural back/ side lighting.

Thanks. For some reason, #1 won't print decently--it lacks detail, lacks vibance, colors don't match, texture is coarse, etc. Never happened to me before. I have to take apart the editing in both LR and CS5 to see what went wrong.
