I have a new toy - a 10 -17mm Tokina lens - and it is lots of fun! This is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and the weather is pretty nice for these parts, this time of year. Took advantage of that and headed to Elk Island park for a few hours yesterday afternoon.

Before we left, I grabbed a couple quick shots in my yard.

We hiked a short trail, that meanders around a couple of ponds that the beavers are active on. The sun popped in and out of cloud, but cooperated on occasion.

I was really hoping for some wildlife shots (and packed the 300mm as well), and there were bison everywhere.

We joined a small group of others watching and shooting the sunset from 'Sandy Beach' but I didn't see a single one of them turn around to shoot the shoreline opposite the setting sun.

I'm glad I did, and then turned the lens toward it.
