I have been saving this series since shooting in april, for a time like now when i have time to stack the shots properly!
green tiger beetles shot at whixall moss one early evening, with the sun going behind a tree i found two tigers just sitting on the damp moss peat!
anyone who has tried to shoot tigers wil know how difficult they usually are to get near!
i had to lie down and crawl up to get within 2 inchs to get these portraits with mpe!
i did know it would be a problem to stack these, although the beetles were not moving, their jaws and feelers were constantly moving lol
this is the first of many, 11 frames focus stacked in zerene stacker and with a few on layer masks, over 2 hours work!!!!!!
a twin layer add on tent style diffuser was attached to the lens in addition to normal diffuser.

Another 200 frames to look at, this might not be the best portrait I got, I tend to shoot stacks better after a few series so the last frames I shot should be better hopefully!
Most of the tigers appear to have blotchy eyes for some reason , most likely bumping into rocks ! Lol
