These are pictures from Day 12 of my summer vacation. We first stopped at Newberry National Volcanic Monument. It was quite amazing walking through all of the hardened lava flows.

We went inside one of the lava caves which went underground for about 1.5 miles. It was specially hard for my wife (she's claustrophobic) but it turned out to be such a large cavern that it wasn't too bad.

We then went to Crater Lake National park. What an amazing place. It's like another world. And yes, the water IS that blue!

Thanks for looking.

Great shots and colors. That second one could easily have been from the Big Island (Hawaii) except for Mt Hood in the background. But substitute Mauna Loa and it'd be hard to tell.

I love that third shot, and the panorama, of course!

Looks like an interesting nice place!

Wow! Very nice. It looks like you could drink right out of Crater Lake.

Hawaii is great. I've been there a couple of times but I never was able to get many good pictures other than coastal/beach scenes. (Not that I'm complaining about that! :D )

    Thanks for the comment.

The colors are really awesome in real life. I tried to capture that in the pictures but I don't think I really was able to do it as much justice. It was quite an experience!

It's supposed to be very pure...I wonder if it's potable though. Thanks for the comments!

Thanks AJ. It was a GREAT vacation. One that I'm very glad we took...it was worth every penny. I think this one was our best yet.
