D700 and Eye-Fi...? CF type 1 to SDHC.
Has anyone have had success using the Eye-Fi cards in a D700?
I am well aware that the D700 uses single CF slot and terribly, it's only CF Type 1, which makes it harder to find an adapter for it..
I suppose I should be asking:
"has anyone found a CF1 to SDHC adapter to work in the D700 with Eye-Fi cards?"
Thanks guys.

There is some hope but understand that cameras that are not specifically certified for use with Eye-Fi card technology may suffer in speed, distance and reliability. Just because it all physically fits doesn't mean the electronics and radio linkup will be acceptable for your needs.
The Nikon D700 also appears to be limited to CF Type I sizes and that severely limits the options.
The best bet, assuming you truly need the Eye-Fi technology, is to use a camera that is more compatible. In the Nikon line that would seem to be the D7000.

I wish they had come out with a CF version.. sadly it's not a large market, I suppose..
I am already using the Eye-Fi with my D7000 and I love it, but I was/am in the market for a D700 and wanted to use the Eye-Fi with it.
I will just wait it out, then newer bodies probably will already have Wi-Fi capabilities built into them. BLAST!!!

You can read more at their forum but it's not a trivial thing for Eye-Fi to come up with a compact flash version of their technology and they have not found a reliable partner with a suitable CF/SD adapter either.
If the Nikon D700 has a USB port which supports file transfer, I think that it does, you might take a look at this thread for inspiration in an alternative method of wireless file transfer:

Just realized it's virtually the same setup as seen before... just more discreet in the MB-d10 grip.

I actually like the positioning of the earlier build:

... the best. Putting the antenna up top makes the most sense from a "best transmission" point of view.

I am going to look more closely at that gadget. And I agree with Ziggy, I like the earlier version.

For those that are interested, I've documented how to reconfigure the B&H SD/CF Type II adapter into a Type I format.
We've found some users mentioning that the reconfigured adapter is not being picked up by some cameras (some Nikons). I've made a followup video describing how to mount it into a Type I chassis.
Let me know if you find success and if so what camera and card chassis you've used.
Tested and working:
Nikon D3 Eye-Fi with the Type II chassis
Nikon D3 Eye-Fi with the Type I chassis
