Thanks guys. This little guy was moving along the vertical side of a curb. Got off about 5 shots looking straight down at him, with autofocus, before he was gone. My wife spotted him as I was intrigued by a nipple fruit

Here's what Raina Kaholoaa with Haleakala National Park had to say:
"It's a pompilid, or spider wasp (Family Pompilidae). There are no native
pompilids. I'm guessing its Tachypompilus analis (F), but can't say for
sure."
