People of the Renaissance

Hi All,
I went to the Norther California Renaissance Faire last weekend. Talk about a wonderful place to shoot (photograph) people. I'm not usually a people shooter, but I had a ball. The only drawback was that there were so many people for the lens that I was carrying (100mm). Unfortunately, most of the people had their feet cut off so most of the shots will be posted as torso and up shots.
Here are a few that I processed and thought I'd share:
The lovelies that put up with me for the day (shot with my V3)
Sony DSC-V3 1/50s f/3.2 at 10.8mm iso100
The Macabre Dancers
Canon EOS 20D 1/250s f/3.5 at 100.0mm iso200
And a young lady
Canon EOS 20D 1/350s f/3.5 at 100.0mm iso200
Thanks for looking,
Chris

I think it's a good shot that you got. Nice focus too.

ginger (the others are good, I am just fixated on the flute)
This is one of those places that is great to shoot people at if you are a bit timid (about shooting people). Here, many people expect to be photographed. I would point my camera at someone and wait till they made eye contact and take the shoot. Most of the people would meet your lens with their stare, but some would look away.
I'll post more examples as I get them processed. Kinda piggybacks on the street photography thing with regards to building confidence. It really helped, now to just go and take some street scenes with people.

That is a great idea. You sparked some creative juices that I now have to try out on this shot.
Thanks for the ideas and comments,

I was quite surprised and happy that this shot came out as how I saw it in my mind. I would have liked a little more space around the flute player, but I needed to crop a partial guitar out of the frame. I'm happy with what I got.
Glad you enjoyed the shot and thanks for the comment,
Chris

Photographing people is really cool. I definitely see how a Renaissance Faire is a great photo-op. You did really well here, the flute player is really good, as everyone else already said it!
Thanks so much for sharing!
Take care!

I like shooting people, just need to become comfortable with it, like most people here.
