I was post processing the 'Young Lady' picture (post in this thread) in LAB and happened upon this effect while playing with a curves adjustment. I kept it because it reminded me of the older religious paintings or post cards. Comments are welcome.

I thought 70's National Geographic as I looked at it. But you are right it has the effect you are going for.
Like a painting almost, though something is harsh about it that could be softened... I don't know... I like the effect anyway. Good job.

Hi Ashley,
Yes, I agree that there is still something wrong; maybe too much detail in the hat and sleeve. This was quite accidental and not what I was originally going for, but I like the oops. The LAB color space can be quite interesting to play with.
