So I was hired for a two day shoot to photograph the backstage action at a beauty pageant.
I did most like I approach street shooting, but also threw in some actual portraits since I was not certain if they would be happy with the candid shots.

Here are some of the portraits--sorry about the watermark, but I'm waiting to see if they will be purchased.

this is an example of the candid moments I shot--I live for this :)

I posted the candids in street. I love them--it remains to be seen if the clients will too.

your color portraits are great! I lovem..except the clipped heads. You need to clip more and zoom in to be deliberate or keep the whole head. The candid is GREAT! I am going over to PJ to look at the others now! (by the way i am fan of your stuff)

Like em. Good shots. Clipped heads don't bother me.
Don't you like portrait orientation? May have worked better on a couple of these...but I kind of like the space also.
Looks like a lot of fun to shoot something like that.

That last one is like a 1950s press candid (like the Maria Callas one right after she'd been served a summons backstage!)

Whole set is GREAT! Loev these.

    Qarik,
Thank you much. Glad you are a fan:)

I must try and pay attention to the chopped heads.

    Zoomer,
I had not even noticed that I'm doing portraits in landscape orientation. I think I like all the extra space myself.

It was a hoot to shoot. I was getting slapped w/ feathers as I walked past, and all sorts of costume pieces, it was chaos, a frenzy all in the rapid paced spoken spanish, some which I had a hard time understanding because of the different dialects, accents. I just went with it and enjoyed every minute.

    Thank you.
