I really love macro but i find i'm limited with a DSLR.I'm kinda new to slrs and am learning.
I have a Sigma 28mm-300mm macro lens but it's still not close enough for my taste.
What is a good macro lens?
I used to get great macro shots with my Nikon P100!Here is one with the Nikon.
I need help!

    Lovely shot.
A Tamron 90mm macro is very good and a nice price.

If you're ok spending a little more money, the Pentax 100mm WR has some nice features: rounded aperture blades for super-creamy bokeh, and weather resistant, nice for those trips to the base of Niagara Falls. It's also surprisingly small and lightweight.

Unfortunately, many manufacturers label lenses as "macro" when they should be labeled "not macro, but somewhat closer focusing than some other lenses." Virtually no real macro lenses are zooms. The Tamron that Lord V. suggests is a 'real' macro lens, capable of 1:1 magnification. Unfortunately, both of my macro lenses are Canon, I can't help with more specifics.
