Here's one of my daughter's favourite abstract shots. A slice of lime in water. This was one of my test shots using a ping pong ball diffuser on the 20D and Sigma 50 macro. Comments/critiques welcome.

This looks great as the backdrop on the computer... and quenches your thirst at the same time!! :D

I think the focus could have been a bit more towards the front. Also, did you try any other shots with the flash in other positions? I think if you had it to the side or above pointing more towards the bottom you may get a little more detail out of the condensation.

Hi Nick, I was trying out a ping pong ball diffuser covering the on-camera flash so I wouldn't be able to change the positions... I think the lack of detail may be the low res picture I posted. Here's a link to the original and it seems to me that the focus is pretty good. Let me know what you think.

Here's the same idea but probably better executed...

I think you're right, the focus looks fine in the bigger pic. The other shot is better in my opinion because the condensation is better defined. Both are good though, especially if your daughter likes them icon10.gif.

Little hard to make out what it really is, I see the condensation on the outside of the glass, but you really cannot make out what it is.
I see she likes to experiment......that's a great way to learn I try it all the time to get better Macros....thanks for sharing........ Skippy (Australia)
