Background too distracting for eyes to focus on the subject !

-When I successfully take series of photos and the insect is still "cooperative" something in me(:D) forces me to try some "unconventional" methods to get a unusual photos. I think I'm on the right track and it's worth to tray to improve this technique.
-Thank you for this one

BTW, I think you are the person who recommended that Manfrotto geared head. I bought one and love it, but I use it for flowers, which stay put. And on your earlier posting, #3 is my favorite because of the backlighting.
Insects are cold blooded, as are fish and reptiles and if you find them early in the morning success is guaranteed!
They stand still until they warmed up and that condition should be used
This butterfly has stood still for more than half an hour (at 10°C at dawn)
Here are some more photos made that day
with the larger drops (rain imitation)
and with longer exposure
only with natural light
