Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge....(long)
See my other post from this location - "Close Encounter With Bambi" -
Today for the first time, I visited this location which is part of the National Wildlife Refuge System....the weather was overcast, it was cool, and it was very late in the day...but there was still much of interest....
there were plenty of small critters around....

plenty of colorful plant life, this being the fall or course....

many walkways to explore...

Some very interesting flourescent fungi...

of course, even in the cold and poor light I was able to find a few small birdies (but no big ones)...

and of course...some nice views...

Oh....and before I forget, even though I was alone on the trail and never saw another person, there was pretty conclusive evidence that others had come before me....

I hope you enjoyed this brief tour...hope to bring more one of these days soon...
Regards...Keith

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
So I really like that alot

Usually, bright colors are a warning sign for people, but I have no idea what that particular fungus is. Now, I cannot confirm or deny the use of any particular fungus for recreational activities, however, I do occasionally flashback to the time I visited Mars one summer and ended up serving as a translator for Elvis.

currently I'm using a rebel xt and three lenses - the 17-85 IS, the 70-300 DO IS, and a recently acquired 400 f/5.6. They are all represented here. As you've probably read, the 400 is super sharp, the 70-300 less so, but quite capable. If you spotted the thread "Close Encounter with Bambi" which was about a deer I saw at the same refuge, you'll note that all of those shots were with the 70-300 DO - one was 1/40 at 300m....can't do that with the 400 f/5.6....
Thanks for stopping by!
