Rust. Trucks. Desert.

An August road trip to Arizona brought us through numerous old Rte. 66 towns and abandoned roadways. As cool as that was, I really wanted to find old rusty cars and trucks. The goal was not to just find old rusty vehicles (that was relatively easy) but find them with a background to match the vehicles. I had almost given up until I spotted an entire line of these in the corner of an unfenced junk yard with the desert as backdrop.

For the Rustafarians, I have these. Other than the Chevy 3600, can anyone shed light on what 3, 4 and 5 are? Thanks, and enjoy!

1. Chevy 3600

2. Chevy 3600. Needs a slight alignment on the front end. :D

4. GMC

5. GMC. A View Inside. No polarizer needed.

OK. Good feedback. And I agree. Was working on it again just now and I think I went mad. Could be the meds. Tell me if this is too much...

I kind of like it all posterized and funked up in Curves in an artsy-fartsy way. :D

    Thanks!
#3 is heavily edited. The out-of-camera shot didn't have the heavy shadow under mid-front bumper and the light pouring through was highly distracting. So (poor) manual cloning of weeds and darkness was in order to bring the image back to show-worthy. Sadly, the truck itself passed the show-worthy point many decades ago.

Nice venture into the world of rust. That re-do of the GMC shot is what it's all about. That's a fitting feast for all RUST JUNKIES.

Really like the redo on the GMC--excellent coloring!

#3 is a 1937 General Motors Truck (GMC). Seems the old rancher preferred GM.

I'm pretty sure #5 is a 1954-55 GMC or Chevy.

Great set! I like them all, but the one I prefer is #5. I would lose the background maybe. clap.gifclap

Nice shots, and the toe-in certainly appears to be a little in excess of specification! :D
