I'm currently living in China and have been toying with the idea of trying to get a more formal education/training in photography :photo.

I've been looking for a good distance learning course dedicated to photography and I know that there are a number our there, but wondered if anyone had any recommendations regarding courses that they have taken and their experiences.

Although I'm not looking for a return on investment I do want to make sure that I am getting value money. Thanks in advance for your input.

Cheers/Peter

http://lynda.com and http://kelbytraining.com/ both have a lot of courses in photography. I'd say Lynda has more focus on tools and Kelby has more on technique but that's just my take. Both have self-paced coures, no instructor or evalulation of progress, in case that's what you are looking for. Both are certainly worth a look.

    Dan,

Thanks for the feedback. I already subscribe to Kelby Training, but the bandwidth I get here in China makes the playing of videos quite hard. To be honest I am looking for something that will provide some feedback and also "force" me to focus on the material.

    Thanks/Peter

I've taken a few from betterphoto.com and enjoyed them. Great instructors. I had Tony sweet and Brenda Tharp and somebody named Canfield, Tim I think.

I am in China also, Shenzhen. I use Kelby and took 2 courses at Better Photo. No complaints on either. Better Photo courses require weekly photo presentations which is good.
