Clone Stamp Tool

For some reason or other my Clone Stamp Tool is not working correctly in Photoshop CS4. When I hold down the Alt key and click this works ok but when I try to clone out it does not function.
I also have CS3 installed and I find that the Clone Stamp Tool is working ok. I have checked the settings on the top bar of CS3 against CS4 and they appear the same.
Cheers
Bob

    Hi Bob,

I moved this over to Finishing School. If the tool bar settings are all correct, I'm guessing that you are not setting the sample point on something with pixels. Maybe the mask is selected instead of the pixels or you are sampling on an adjustment layer. Double check what is active when you sample and what you have targeted to receive the stamp. If you can't figure it out, post some screen shots that include the layers palette and maybe we'll be able to help.

    Is Mode set to "Normal"?

Are Opacity and Flow both set to 100% (or at least well above zero)?

Are you trying to clone on the image layer or on a blank layer?

Thanks to everyone for your kind help. I have sorted the problem the Opacity was at 100 and the flow was at 0.

That would be a new one for me. Usually once I quit cussin' and spittin' I find I'm looking at one layer and cloning on another or on a mask :D.
