SmugMug friend Amit Gupta needs your help. Amit runs Photojojo, a really cool online photo-themed accessory and gift store. Photojojo is also a ClubSmug partner.
Amit was recently diagnosed with Acute Leukemia and is in need of a bone marrow transplant, which needs to be done very soon. A compatible marrow donor should be of South Asian descent South Asians (Indians, Pakistanis, Nepali etc). South Asians are severely under-represented in the bone marrow pool, so finding a donor is a challenge. A simple and painless test can determine that compatibilty. Getting tested involves a cheek swab and about 5 minutes of time, but it takes a while to process. The registry needs your kit before Nov. 30th to help Amit.
A web site with scheduled bone marrow drive testing locations and dates (in many cities) with updates has been set up here. Our best wishes and hopes go out to Amit for a quick recovery.
