on October 14, the first day of the assignment. I was at Caw Caw wildlife, there was nothing. Some hawks overhead. Turkey things. But I shot some of them. I did notice that these markings appeared different, but what do I know, I don't usually do raptors, especially as high as these were. Besides I was looking for assignment shots.

When I got home I did notice that these are not Turkey Hawks, or whatever, most were, but a few were not. I just now worked them up.

What are they, you raptor people, I assume that you know?

The white around parts of the bird is not from oversharpening, it is rim lighting as I was shooting up, and that was where the sun was. I think these came out amazingly well considering how high that bird was and how much they were enlarged.

Thanks Ben and Steve! I wonder how I managed to expose it right, rolleyes1.gif I usually mess up when they are in the air. Perhaps the absolute absence of any other bird gave me lots of time to think.:D

It is a pretty bird, that was what struck me when I saw it on the computer. In person I do remember noticing the wing markings, but I still thought it was probably a Turkey Hawk, they were all together.

Anyway, It is amazing to me how pretty the markings are now that I can sit here, enlarge the bird and look at it. When it was in the air I didn't see what I do now.

And I am pleased as to how well it worked up. I must have gotten a good lock on it, too. Plenty of pixels and they are not OOF.

(I have several more odds and ends to work up from that week of intensive shooting, not much, but some.)

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks, Harry. I remember shooting them, I know about where I was, but I don't remember what I was thinking with the camera. I can look up the exif, and I will know as much as anyone else, I guess.

    thanks,
