    Scott Kelby
Scott Kelby's book "Lightroom 3 for Photographers" is great! Additionally there is an plethora of free short videos regarding Lightroom and Photoshop CS5 on YouTube and other Internet sites.

Finally, I have just purchased a reasonably priced two DVD video training set on Lightroom 3: "How To Gurus, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3" which I found on eBay and which IMO is excellent...

    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=+Lightroom+3+DVD&_sacat=0&_odkw=Adobe+Photoshop+Lightroom+3+DVD&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

I have not viewed the Photoshop CS5 version of How To Gurus DVD but, I have no reason to believe that is would not be just as well done as the Lightroom 3 version.

If you want a through understanding of Lightroom and ACR, not what I’d call a fast food quickie diet, check out George Jardine’s videos on the subject. George was formally the LR evangelist at Adobe. Here’s a free sample, a superb tutorial using both Photoshop and Lightroom for B&W conversions. But quick and dirty isn’t his style!

LR is MUCH easier to learn than Photoshop. Kelby's book is OK for LR--I found it annoyingly chatty, but it gives you the basics. For Photoshop, I tried various things and finally paid for a Lynda.com tutorial that I found quite useful, because it walks you through step by step. If you do that, it is worth paying the extra charge to get the images that are shown in the tutorial so that you can use them yourself. I would watch a bit, stop the video, try it myself, and then go back to the video.

I personally used the Kelby Photoshop CS4 training videos, they are amazing and for someone who had never used PS before, the basic course was awesome at orienting me in the program and doing simple things. I put them up on one screen and then have PS open on the other screen and follow along with what he is doing. I've since moved on to some of his other courses on CS4, he has a whole series devoted to Layers, for example, but I whole heartedly recommend his training videos.

Hi, I got all of his videos - great tutorial - easy to follow - George knows how to teach.

One other thing - I had some mix-up with my paypal account and overpaid for one video - George promised to sort it out for me and he did - and fast - good ethics, that's my experience with him.
    Cheers, Bee
