Looking for suggestions on the lowest cost printer/ink/paper combination for 5x7 prints for basically a one day event.
This will be for a Help-Portrait event. We'd like to have 4 shooting stations with a dedicated printer at each station. Last year there was only one printer. With 4 printers, we could easily double last years amount of people who receive prints. I'd like to get the printers/ink/paper donated, but am looking for a low cost option, and a total that I can present to potential donors. The images will mostly be going from the camera to the printer, with little editing.
1. The people receiving the pics very likely have no pics of themselves/family. They will walk out with a framed 5 x 7 portrait. They will pay nothing for this. (5 x 7's because they aren't as expensive as 8 x 10's, and they're a little nicer than your basic 4 x 6).
2. We will very likely be using these printers one day. Period. Afterwards, we may either be donating them, or using them again next year for the same event. Which is why we are looking for something inexpensive, but functional. "Real event printers" just aren't a reality or necessity.
3. I know there are a bajillion reviews on the interwebs of cheap printers, I am looking here on DGRIN because I value the opinions here, and wanted to see if anybody has used a cheap printer that they were happy with. These prints don't need to be magazine quality, just something decent for someone who may not be as fortunate as most of us here.
Any info would be appreciated!
