Slow this morning?

I am trying to upload w/o success.

I checked all the usual spots - no warning, but my upload speeds are glacial. Seems like confirming image is taking extra long.

Anything?

    Slow as in stopped for me. I can upload to Flickr or 500px but not to Smugmug. ACDSee tells me that Smugmug's server is not responding.

    I hate when the notifications that there are site problems trail the actual issues by hours.

    I know the time SM is down is small, but my chances of me hitting it are almost 100%! I always seem to have issues with uploads or downloads. I didnt know Sunday morning was problematic, but isnt this when many pro's do their work?

    Have you written to the Help Desk to report your problem? You'll get faster results that way.

    FWIW, I'm also having problems uploading and with image processing once the shots get to the server.

    And now it's down - of course at the worst possible time for me. Sigh...

    This sort of problem seems to be becoming more frequent. I hope something is done about it.

    mwink.gif Status page says all is well so the error I get logging in and / or uploading must be due to the complete lack of alcohol today ...

    Not necessarily true. One needs to know if its on our end or SM end. If everyone has an issue, then writing the help desk does no good.

    I wish SM was more consistant about warning of issues.

    Go to their facebook page, many others have similar issues.

    Slow for me an hour ago, now it won't let me log in let alone attempt to upload any photos (I'm in the UK). Support site showing all is well but it's certainly not.

    Seems to be a pretty common thing lately. I've been a member for 7 years and could count the number of downtime periods I noticed on one hand for the whole of the first 6 years...but this year (particularly the past few months) it feels like everything is getting progressively worse.

    Still slow & Problems @ 11:20 CST
    The HTML5 uploader doesn't load from fireFox. My Lightroom uploader times out. The simple (java) uploader uploads the file fast, but takes forever to confirm each file, so stalls at three files.

    Help!

    Yeah, some files won't load at all and many of the ones that do make it are back in the dreaded "processing image" feature again. Smugmug may not be in read only mode now, but it is still unusable, so it is still down and the status page still says all ok.

    We had another Read Only for a few minutes about 45 mins ago - site is up and working now, if you are having trouble uploading or anything at all, please write our heroes http://help.smugmug.com

    I'm in the Northeast, one of 1.5 million w/out power so trying to keep on top of things via 3G ....

    Sorry to say but it's been a very bad month for Smugmug. I have read the status page and, frankly, does not make for pretty reading.

    Files spend about five minutes each trying to upload before timing out.

    Just curious if SM servers are either impacted by the snow in the NE or by lots of Halloween uploads?

    I was able to upload my Halloween event to FB just fine but prefer to use SM.

    I think the manual updating of the status page, and the reactive nature to outages keeps it from being very useful.

    Something needs to be developed on SM's backend that automatically watches the little things like the queues and then triggers the status updates automatically--for large queue backlogs for example. Or just make it one person's job to sit there and watch everything. This way, SM knows about the issues before we do and the status is accurate to the second. I know this would alleviate some of the frustrations as a user.
