hello:i have a photography website in which i want to put printmarks on the photos.printmarks are not the same as watermarks in that the printmarks show up on the final print whereas watermarks do not.i want my copyright and signiture to be on the sold print.i have adobe photoshop elements 7 and could not find anything under printmarks from photoshop.i need a good tutorial thanks john

Printmarks are done via SmugMug - you make the graphic in Photoshop (a transparent PNG file) http://smu.gs/rG6TpO

Hi John, I don't use elements 7, I'm so sorry But if you can save the file as a transparent png in Elements 7, then you can use that file as a print mark on SmugMug. I asked you to post in Finishing School, where we do that sort of support here on Dgrin - I've bumped your thread there, trying to help John!

In fact if you want, I can make your printmark for you in Photoshop - what do you want it to say and how do you want it to look, got something to show me?

I'm certainly not ignoring your question, I'm trying to help.

it would be great if you made the printmark-thanks. on the bottom left corner: C Macdonald Photography -reproduction prohibited 11 on the bottom right corner: J macdonald(i wanted to sign my name but a printed version is ok too....my computer is down so my response time will be slow thanks again john

Really you should do one or the other, this much text will look not-so-good on a print.



go ahead and try it and see. Load that into a gallery, choose "make into printmark" from the Tools Menu.

hi andy.my computer is back up!i will take your suggestion and employ C macdonald photography only....i got instructions for making a watermarl in elements 7,its all greek to me,i would appreciate it if you could find someone to make the watermark....another question:if we make a watermark and bring it into a smugmug gallery do i then convert it into a printmark? thanks
