For what it's worth...imagine you'd shot # 1 from slightly behind the sax man, down close to his level...

    Thanks for looking bd

That was the best subject separation I could get. There were a bunch of folks in the other angle. This image made it look more personal

and I was on my knee ;)

I can't see the pics in this thread, but I can get to them directly using the links in the post. This usually means that external links are not enabled in the SmugMug gallery containing the pics.

I couldn't see them initially but can now. The only thing I could come up with was, did you have them initially hosted on facebook? I have a script monitor that wanted to redirect me there and I didn't. Now they seem to be on SM. headscratch.gif

I like the clarity of #1 and I kind of like the composition as is. And #4 is cool if only for the scale factor which you captured beautifully.

OK, I see them now. They have potentials. but be careful with parents yelling at you taking photos of the kids :-) (yes, I know it's legal et al)

You need to squat down more at their level, if you want them to be more than snapshots. Sometimes you need to include more, and sometimes less. When to do what? When you see the final image, you'll know :-)

The first set is pretty good PJ. The second set is just a set of family-type snapshots of some cute kids. There's enough of a story in #1 to make it almost a worthwhile street shot, but BD's right. A different angle would have given you a more compelling result.
