We had friends over weekend for dinner and with couple of families with kids it is always fun time for camera. Here are few candids from that time.
All captured using Canon 60D + Sigma 30mm F1.4 + Canon 580EX II - Edited in LR3.

Thanks for you comment, 1st and 2nd were given that effect in LR3 using graduated filters and topical adjustments. 1st one was more as an attempt to save image as kid was running and looked up while I took a snap and flash exposed only one side of image so I used LR3 to give that effect and save it. Looks like I need to work on my LR3 skills :).

Nice work. I agree that the 1st two are over-processed, but you got real expressions and emotions. I'm struck by the fact that none of these (except maybe #2) look like they were shot with a wide-angle lens. Are these tight crops?

Brett - thanks for your comments. All of them shot using Sigma 30mm F1.4 at a distance of 8-15 feet from subjects. Yes I did tight crop #2, #3. Rest were cropped just little bit to avoid clutter from background. #1 & #2 I used graduated filters. As you can see on lower right side in #2 there were lot of toys and other clutter lying around distracting from her face. So in PP I tried to bring focus back on her face.
In #1 boy was running and looked up at me while I clicked it, I had my flash ON which brightened up one side of face while darkened otehr side of the snap. I liked the expression and moment of that playfulness. So to save the picture I used graduated filter to dark out background around his face trying to give effect of studio shot. All of this are candid shots were none of kids were posed (consider it my weak side :)).
