My son and his wife had a new baby September 7th. It's a boy and he weighed 11 pounds. They live in Connecticut. I have not seen the baby yet, but we just made reservations to fly back there for a week over the Thanksgiving holiday.

I just got a CD of pictures from my son. I worked up a few with photoshop CS2 to improve the light and crop etc.
I didn't take the pictures myself, but I am the proud grandma and I want to share. I'll take pictures at Thanksgiving and share after the holiday too.

Did you tell me that???? I am so self absorbed! That is a wonderful thing, Snappy!

    Congratulations all around!

I know you mentioned Thanksgiving! A new baby at Thanksgiving. Actually that was when I first saw my youngest son's son........last year at Thanksgiving.

They all look wonderful and happy. The baby is beautiful, the other kids are too! Your son looks wonderful, and the mother looks proud and happy!

It is a population explosion this year on dGrin!

    Congrats again, Snappy,

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. You know, Owen, you were right about a couple of them being too bright on the eyes. I used Scott Kelby's method of whitening the eyes and, when you're looking at it close up, you can go too far. I also used LAB to get rid of some yellow/green tint from the flourescent lights, the combination could have just been too much. So, I redid two of those shots. The one of mother and baby in the hospital and the one of Shaan and the baby. Shaan his big eyes and the whites were a bit too white. I've got to watch that. Thanks for pointing it out.

Here's a before and after on that hospital shot. I usually correct in RAW, but I only had jpeg files on these, so I'm pleased with what LAB can do along with some "selective color" adjustments to remove yellow.

    Hi Snappy,
Wonderful shots; I especially like #2. A nice job on the conversion and I really like the moment you caught. Congrats on the new member.
