He Said....She Said

When I first showed #1 below....a rust scene...., Michael ( DaddyO ) commented that it reminded him of the two halves of the brain. I thought that was a pretty good description. I then showed #2 below....a complimentary rust scene with an entirely different interpretation. I came to view #1 as the man's take on things and #2 as the woman's perception.

These two photos have now each been printed and framed ( 20 x 30 ) in solid white frames with white double matting. They will go on display next week, side by side, in an exhibition of contemporary art. The accompanying placard will read " He Said....She Said ".

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Sitting quietly, doing nothing. Spring comes and the grass grows by itself.

Thanks, Craig. There's a section of town that's real artsy. Well, there's actually several but the one called Riverside is the biggy. Some of those folks have put this thing together. It should be a lot of fun.

Thanks a lot, Liz. It was funny, when the application committee viewed these, they asked me what they were. When I told them that they were pictures of rust, they couldn't believe it.

    Take care,

Thanks, Mary. This whole thing is really no big deal....just an effort by an element of the local artist's community. For some reason, this is the first time this particular group is allowing photos to be included. They see it as a trial run for photo participation and I don't believe photos will be included in any judging that may go on.

It makes me wonder how many other artist organizations have been reluctant to include photography into the mix. I would guess it varies all over the place.

    Take care,
