Twitter & FB buttons below pictures

Below some of my pictures the "Tweet", "FB Like" & "FB Share" buttons show up whereas these don't under other photos (even in the same gallery). I do have the FB Buttons in my footer so the footer buttons are visible on all pages. The above mentioned photos show a set of buttons below the picture as well as those in the footer.

Example: First photo in this gallery has these buttons whereas most of the others don't.

Can anyone help me understands what controls the appearance of these buttons?

    The first photo in that gallery is collected from another gallery, where you allow easy sharing (and thus the Like and Twitter buttons). The other photos in this gallery are subject to the gallery's settings, and you do not allow external links in the gallery so that'll shut off the buttons.
