Has anyone tried the remote control apps for smartphones to control a camera?

Yes I looked at that one but it is very restricted on the phones it can use
This one seems more versatile, they offer a wireless and a usb option on any android phone 2.3.1 and above.

But I'd like to know what they're like before trying one, it's not the £5-£6 cost that worries me it's the effect on the equipment. But it seems like no-ones tried them.

Despite seeming more versatile, I can't get an aswer from the developers. I wanted compatibility info and despite two emails there has been not a peep from them.
If thats how they treat prospective customers, I hate to think how they will deal with support enquiries.

These guys answered this morning, they tell me that they only support phones with android 3.1 and above. Unfortunately mine is 2.3.5. So I cant go for it. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who does though.
