Hi,
I have a category "family", with a subcategory containing private galleries. Is there a way to link to the collection of galleries, without having to send links to EACH gallery? I tried sending what I saw as the link, but it does not work, I'm guessing because the galleries are private.

thanks,
teresa

You can create a sharegroup and share the link to that.

I'm learning all sorts of things today--I somehow overlooked this feature over the years. But I have a question.

The sharegroup itself is unlisted, but can unlisted galleries be added to it? And if so, will they remain unlisted? Ie, will the sharegroup will appear empty? headscratch.gif

Sharegroups themselves do not show in your public site. They kind of work like custom categories that are unlisted and they can contain any list of galleries you want to assign to them. You can put either public or unlisted galleries in them with no difference between the two. IMO, they are most useful for sharing groups of galleries, at least some of which are unlisted (and thus you couldn't use a category to share them).

So unlisted galleries show up as public, but only in a sharegroup? headscratch.gif

First of all, keep in mind that public means that a gallery is listed on your homepage or galleries page for public browsing. Unlisted means that the gallery is not listed for the public and will only be seen if you actually give a link to someone. Unlisted galleries are always unlisted whether they are in a sharegroup or not.

A sharegroup is an unlisted collection of galleries that you manually create and manually assign which galleries go in it. Sharegroups are not publicly available - they are unlisted too. You can place either public or unlisted galleries in the sharegroup. Everything that was unlisted stays unlisted. The Sharegroup itself is unlisted (e.g. only available if you give out a link to someone).
